The news media will be swamped with sports news during the two weeks of the Olympic games, and we will be especially in the second week when the athletics action takes place. Regrettably going on past experience much of the coverage will be shallow and uninformed! But fear not, using the web we can get the kind of detailed information and insider commentary that participants in the sport really need.
We will maintain an update of NZ results on this site in the article New Zealanders at the Athens Olympic Games. Many of you will of course want more information, including background articles, coverage of athletes from other countries and even coverage of other sports :-) To help you we are providing this links page which will help you find the best news and information. The "award level" reflects our assessment of their interest level to New Zealand athletics fans. The pages will be monitored daily, and the award levels adjusted as they lift their performance or trip up.
