safety information
- Wave starts from 9am. The course is a challenging one including a 400m total vertical climb.
Participants should be physically capable of completing the course.
- Participants must be over 12 years of age for the full course.
- Although there will be safety support available, participants compete at their own risk.
First aid and water stations are available as marked on the course. Participants may also want to carry
their own water/refreshments, and need to carry suitable clothing for the weather on the day.
- Much of the course is above 300m and is exposed in bad weather conditions.
- The dropping of litter is prohibited. Bins will be provided at drink stations.
- Participants who encounter a fellow participant who is injured or in serious difficulty should notify
the first available event official on the course.
- The tracks will be advertised as closed to mountain bikes on the day. However, please watch for other users
and be courteous to them as you would expect them to be to you.
- For safety reasons we cannot permit dogs or buggies in the event.
results and prizegiving
- Race times will be recorded at the finish and results will be available from the web site on
Tuesday 9th March 2010.
- Medals will be awarded to the fastest individual in each category (minimum 5 competitors),
and first three in Open and Veteran categories.
- Prizes, including spot prizes, will be awarded at prizegiving at Ben Burn Park, Karori from approximately 11.30am.
- Hand in your race number at the stage for spot prizes.
- Transponders must be returned at the finish line. If yours is lost or not returned you will be charged $20.
turbine club
- All runners who reach the Wind Turbine in under 30 minutes from the start (men) or 35 minutes (women)
will receive a cool Turbine Club cap or badge.

- Shoe Clinic, Willis St., 12pm - 2pm Friday 5 March & Saturday 6 March.
- Out of towners may pick race packs up on race day by arrangement.
- Late entries accepted on the day up until 8.30am. (A late fee of $15 will apply.)

- Brooks shoes and merchandise. A season ski pass to Ruapehu, a mountain bike for the kids and lots more!

- We will endeavour to have a photo (which can be downloaded for free) available for every
participant on the websites www.anysport.co.nz by Tuesday 9 March 2010, and www.pbase.com/rowang by Friday 12 March.
kids' mountain run/walk & magic mile - national children's day registered event
FREE ENTRY - Register at the Meridian tent on the day.
- Start Ben Burn Park after the start of the main race. 3.4km loop Mountain Run for primary-age children. Kids magic mile. Best dressed prize for 5 & under and 6 & over.

- Putting the FUN back into being active. While the main race is underway and after the kids race has finished, there will be fun family
activities at the Park. Push Play.

- The Meridian Energy Gutbuster Walk and Run ("the Event") is organised by Sports Impact and the Wellington Harrier
Athletic Club ("the Organisers") with the co-operation and support of Meridian Energy, Wellington City Council,
and the combined Rotary Clubs of Wellington ("the Sponsors").
- I agree to abide by the rules of the Event as set out in this entry form (and any other information provided to me
before or during the Event). I permit the Organisers and Sponsors to use photographs of me taken during the Event to
advertise or promote the Event in the future or for any general marketing purposes that the Organisers or Sponsors
so decide.
- I agree that I am participating in the Event entirely at my own risk and agree to accept sole responsibility and liability
for any damage that I may do to myself, any other competitor or third party, or my or their equipment or posessions. Neither
the Organisers nor any other parties associated with the Event (including the Sponsors) shall have any responsibility for any
liability, financial or otherwise, which might arise whether or not by negligence, from any direct or indirect loss, injury or
death which might be sustained by me or any other party directly or indirectly associated with me, from my participation in the
Event and any related activities. I agree to indemnify the Organisers, the Sponsors and any landowners, officials and
assistants against any claim arising from my actions or inactions.
- I acknowledge that in the event of extreme weather conditions or where the Organisers consider there to be unacceptable
safety risks, the Organisers may cancel the Event. In the unlikely event of cancellation, the Organisers will endeavour to
make the maximum refund possible to me.
